Many users compare the cost of repair to the cost of a new model. Motorola often has national promotions that greatly reduce the next pruchase cost of new models by 15% - 20%. New models are the latest technology from Motorola, smaller and lighter weight, lower cost, the latest battery technology of Lithium Ion, more ruggged and durable, and contain more features like pre-loaded business frequencies, louder and clearer audio, reduced magnetic field to greatly reduce metal shavings, easily change settimgs using free downloadable software. A new purchase gives you new Motorola technology, a new battery, a new charger and a new 1 year replacement warrranty. Repairing an old radio still leaves you with an old unit. WARRANTY: Motorola offers a 1-Year replacement warranty to the end user of the product. Eligibility for warranty replacement is determined 1 of 2 ways:
1. The date of manufacture (derived from the serial number, see below)
2. A copy of the original purchase receipt showing it was purchased less than 12 months prior.
If the radio is found to be defective under warranty, the reseller is authorized to replace the radio to the end user purchaser. If the defective unit was purchased less than 12 months from the date of return, and the date of manufacture is beyond 1-year from the date of return, a copy of the original sales receipt showing the purchase date by the end user must be supplied to ACS, Inc. with the return.
If the unit is out of warranty, the end user may return it to the Motorola Service Depot for repair.
